Papayagan nang makapag-biyahe ang mga Pinoy na bibisita sa Taiwan ng walang visa, simula Nobyembre 1, 2017 hanggang Hulyo 31, 2018.
Ito ang inanunsyo ng Taipei Economic and Cultural Office o TECO sa bansa ngayong Lunes, Oktubre 16.
Ayon sa TECO, sa mga Pinoy na gustong manatili hanggang labing apat (14) na araw sa Taiwan para magbakasyon, may transaksyon sa negosyo, bumisita sa mga kaanak o dadalo ng mga okasyon, maaari na nilang ma-avail ang visa – free entry epektibo sa unang araw ng Nobyembre.
This visa-free initiative shall undergo a 9-month trial period until July 31, 2018 as part of Taiwan’s goodwill and efforts of the “New Southbound Policy” to build closer people-to-people exchange of visits and an economic community between Taiwan and the Philippines.
Layunin umano ng naturang programa na nasa ‘trial period’ na mapabuti pa ang ugnayan ng Pilipinas at Taiwan.
Para ma-avail ang naturang visa-free entry, dapat na makumpleto ang mga sumusunod na requirements:
1. )An ordinary/regular passport with remaining validity of at least six months from the date of entry (Diplomatic & official passport holders are not eligible for visa-free treatment);
2.) A return ticket or a ticket for the traveller’s next destination and a visa for that destination if it is required;
3.) No criminal record in Taiwan;
4.) A proof of accommodation (hotel) booking or host/sponsor’s contact information /or arrangements of tour, travel, visit, events and meeting etc.
Gayunman, sa mga mananatili naman ng higit labing apat (14) na araw para mag-aral, magtrabaho at iba pang lakad, kailangan pa ring kumuha ng visa bago pumunta sa naturang bansa.
However, those who intend to stay in Taiwan for more than 14 days or for the purpose of study, work, missionary, employment and other gainful activities are still required to obtain appropriate visas before entering Taiwan.
Magugunitang inanunsyo ng Taiwan noong Hunyo ang visa-free policy para sa Pilipinas subalit ipinagpaliban.
Walang formal diplomatic relations ang Taiwan at Pilipinas dahil kinikilala ng Philippine government ang ‘One China’ Policy.
