PINATUNAYAN ng pinakamalaking political party sa Cebu na ang pagkakaisa na adhikain ng UniTeam ang kailangan ng bansa sa ngayon, ayon kay presidential frontrunner Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos.
Sa ginanap na general assembly ng One Cebu Party sa SM Seaside Convention Hall sa Cebu City, pormal ng inendorso ng presidente ng partido na si Governor Gwendolyn Garcia ang kandidatura nina Marcos at kanyang running-mate na si Inday Sara Duterte.
Bago nilagdaan ng One Cebu at UniTeam kasama ang One Cebu Island ang kanilang kasunduan na tinawag na “One Cebu UniTeam”, tinawag ni Garcia na “next president at vice president” ang nangungunang tambalan.
Umaasa si Marcos na mananalo ang UniTeam sa darating na halalan matapos ang naganap na pag-endorso.
“We signed two documents today, one with One Cebu and the other was with One Cebu Island to include the three cities, and that for me is extremely significant,” wika niya.
“That brings me to another realization that this coming together of the UniTeam, of the One Cebu and of the One Cebu Island is a continuing process now of what we began when we speak unity. Cebu with its great role in our country, for them to join us in this cause we are undertaking of unifying the Filipino people, if you have joined us then that is a significant step,” dagdag pa nito.
Ang pagsasanib pwersa ng UniTeam sa One Cebu ay nagpatibay na pagkakaisa ang kailangan sa ngayong bumabangon pa lang ang bansa mula sa pinsala na dulot ng pandemiya.
“In that, what we are working for when we talk about unity, you have validated and reaffirmed our idea that this is what the times need because if Cebu believes that then it must be of significance to the general thinking of the people,” sabi ni Marcos.
Ilang beses din nagpasalamat si Marcos sa mga Cebuano at mga political leaders sa lalawigan dahil sa paniniwalang ibinigay nila para sa UniTeam.
Sinabi ng standard-bearer ng Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) na ang malakas na suportang ibinibigay sa UniTeam ang dahilan upang unti-unti magkaisa ang mga Pilipino na aniya’y tunay na tagumpay.
“I do not think words are going to be sufficient to thank you all, the political leadership of the province,” sabi niya.
“When you support the UniTeam, when you support the team of Marcos and Duterte, you are not only supporting the candidates, our senators, you are supporting the idea that the Philippines way forward is through unity. You have strengthen the argument, the voice of our people, that we should move in that direction,” dagdag pa nito.
Ayon kay Marcos, malaki ang papel na ginagampanan ng Cebu hindi lamang sa kasaysayan ng bansa, patuloy din itong nagkakaroon ng espesyal na parte sa buhay ng mga Pilipino patungkol sa politika at ekonomiya.
“This might be the most significant election that all of us will have in our lifetime because in this election we face a new world and the only way to face it and to prosper is to be unified,” wika niya.
“The directions that we will take after the election are going to define the Philippines for several generations that is why it is so important that we will face all the challenges that will be coming on the next two years but we must face it as one people, as one country, and once again I thank you for your forward thinking and understanding that this direction that we have started, the road that we have started to travel is the right road,” sabi niya pa.
Sinabi ni Marcos na ang suporta na natatanggap ng UniTeam ay isang pagpapatunay at nagpapatibay sa kanilang kakayahan at ang kanilang ideya na pinili ay nasa tamang landas tungo sa pagkakaisa.
”That is the most important gift that you have given us today and for that I thank you all very much. I thank you beyond all that, for myself, for Inday Sara, for UniTeam and most of all I thank you for the Filipino people,” pagbibigay diin niya.
