Muling nakiisa ang SM Prime Holdings kasama ang SM Cares at SM by the bay sa taunang International Coastal Clean Up (ICC) sa Sy by the bay central park, SM Mall of Asia sa Pasay City.
Sama sama ang mahigit dalawang libong volunteers na sumali sa clean-up day bilang pagpapakita ng kahalagahan nang pagbibigay proteksyon sa karagatan at iba pang anyo ng katubigan.
Sa naganap na clean up drive, mahigit labing 2,000 kilo ng basura ang nahakot ng volunteers na kinabibilangan ng mga estudyante, professionals at mga nagmula sa private at public organizations.
Kabilang sa mga nanguna sa naturang hakbangin sina Climate Change Commission Vice Chair Secretary Robert Borje, DENR NCR Regional Executive Director Jacqueline Caancan, DENR NCR Regional Director for Technical Services Engineer Ignacio Almira, DENR NCR Regional Strategic Communication and Initiatives Group Head Chris Villarin, DENR NCR Communication Development Officer 2 Ariz Abad, SM Investments President and CEO and 2GO Group President and CEO Frederic Dybuncio, SM Prime Holdings Incorporated Senior Vice President Glen Ang, SM Supermalls Senior Associate Vice President For Operations Perkin So, SM by the bay Mall Manager Marie Charlene Claire Caloy-Narvasa at Price Waterhouse Coopers Philippines Markets and Assurance Executive Director Allan Cao.
Binigyang diin ni SM Supermalls SAVP for Operations Perkin SONA ang International Coastal Clean Up ay bahagi ng kabuuang SM Green Movement.
Sa mga ganito rin aniyang aktibidad pinatutunayan ng SM Prime Holdings bilang responsableng property developer at community partner ang pagsusulong ng sustainability programs sa mga mall nito, residences, hotels at leisure properties kung saan isinusulong ang resource conservation at environmental protection para mapaganda ang buhay ng mga komunidad na pinagsisilbihan nito.
Ang ICC na taunang aktibidad na humihikayat sa lahat na maging bahagi ng mga pagkilos para sa paglilinis ng karagatan ay ikinasa ng SM Offices, 2GO, PWC, Maynilad at International Coastal Clean Up Philippines at suportado ng DENR NCR, Climate Change Commission at Philippine Coastguard.
Bukod sa taunang paglahok sa ICC, kabilang sa sustainability projects ng SM Cares ang trash to cash recycling market, plastic waste at electronic waste collection programs at advocacies tulad ng women and breastfeeding mothers, persons with disabilities, senior citizens at children and youth gayundin ang bike friendly sm initiative na bahagi ng mga programa ng SM Cares bilang proteksyon sa kapaligiran.
