Pinagbibitiw sa puwesto ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang dalawang assistant secretaries dahil sa alegasyon ng korupsyon at pag-abuso sa kapangyarihan.
Sa isinagawang regular press briefing sa Malacañang ngayong araw, tinukoy ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque ang mga opisyal na sina Assistant Secretary Moslemen Macarambon Sr. ng Department of Justice (DOJ) at Assistant Secretary Tingagun Ampaso Umpa ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

“Investigation conducted by the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission revealed that Asec Macarambon has regularly been intervening on behalf of suspected smugglers of gold and other precious jewelry at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.”
“Investigation conducted by the DPWH indicates that Asec Umpa committed grave abuse of power and may have committed also acts of corruption, among others. DPWH has sworn statements where Asec Umpa allegedly asked from contractors in the ARMM area for certain percentages from projects awarded to these contractors.” Pahayag ni Roque
Matatandaang noong nakaraang linggo ay sinabi ng Pangulo na may sinibak siyang isang opisyal at may susunod pa bagama’t hindi tinukoy kung sino ang mga ito.
Una nang naalis sa puwesto ang ilang high-ranking officials at pinuno ng ilang government offices dahil sa korupsyon at pagkakaroon ng maluho at sobra-sobrang pagbiyahe.
