Naka-red alert na rin ang buong puwersa ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa Luzon at Visayas na nakaranas ng matinding hagupit ng super bagyong Rolly.
Sa ipinawatawag na pulong sa Kampo Aguinaldo kaninang umaga, iniulat ni AFP chief of staff Gen. Gilbert Gapay na nasa mahigit 4,000 sundalo ang naka-standby para magsagawa ng search, rescue at retrival operations.
Partikular aniya ito sa hilaga at gitnang Luzon gayundin sa National Capital Region, Southern Luzon, Bicol Region maging sa bahagi ng Visayas.
Ang distribution nito in Northern Luzon command 2,000, Southern Luzon command 1,800 in Central command sa Visayas 860 and dito sa JTF NCR meron tayong around 600 regular forces ready to respond when needed; total is 4,860 military personnel directly involve and actively composing in different response task units,” ani Gapay.
Dagdag pa ni Gapay, handa na rin ang lahat ng kanilang mga air, sea at land assets para gamitin sa disaster response ng pamahalaan sakaling kailanganin.
Meron din tayong air assets na involve dito naka-standby, meron tayong 6 na initially na air assets; 2 heavy lift transport aircraft at 4 na helicopters on standby to perform disaster response operations and we also have 4 big ships of the navy, meron tayong 2 landing docks and 2 logistics support vehicles also on standby to perform and assist in our disaster response operations. Naka-ready ang inyong Armed Forces to extend assistance, to perform disaster response operations,” ani Gapay.
