The Air Traffic Management System of Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) experienced a major technical glitch around 9:49 Sunday morning.
CAAP Spokeperson Eric Apolonio in his viber message confirmed the information “there are technical issues that we are addressing now for the safety concern, we will keep you posted” Apolonio in his viber message.
DOTR Sec. Jimmy Bautista immediately called for an emergency meeting with Airport General Manager Cesar Chiong, CAAP Director General Skee Tamayo and all other airport operations to assess the situation.
As of press time there are domestic flights that were forced to fly back to the provinces and international flights diverted to the nearest available airport. I via Raoul C Esperas (Patrol 45)
