Airport General Manager Cesar Chiong retains his post even as Malacañang announced two weeks ago that Jay Art Tugade, son of former DOTr Sec. Art Tugade was appointed by the President.
Cesar Chiong came out victorious after a brief power play within Malacañang as to who would really be the appointed general manager of Manila International Airport Authority, an umbrella agency under Department of Transportation secretary Jaime Bautista.
DOTr Sec. Bautista said that he sought the guidance of the President because he had work with Cesar Chiong during their pal days and they all blended together.
“DOTr has a lot of things to do for our country and I need a good work chemistry to be able to succeed” bautista said.
The Malacañang announced appointee Jay Art Tugade has never appeared at the airport complex even after the Malacañang announcement as the new airport general manager. | RAOUL ESPERAS (Patrol 45)
