Ikinakasa na ng House Committee on Justice ang articles of impeachment laban kay Commission on Elections o COMELEC Chairman Andy Bautista.
Ayon kay Congressman Rey Umali, chairman ng komite, dalawang articles lamang ang kanilang bubuuin.
Una ang Culpable Violation of the Constitution, dahil sa hindi paglalagay ng kanyang yaman sa kanyang Statement of Asset Liabilities and Networth o SALN, at graft and corruption dahil sa di umano’y mga tagong yaman nito sa napakaraming bank accounts.
Kumbinsido si Umali na hindi politically motivated ang impeachment kay Bautista dahil lumutang naman aniya ito dahil sa mismong asawa ni Bautista.
Ganito din anya ang nakikita niya sa impeachment case laban kay Supreme Court Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.
Gayunman, iba aniya ang nakikita niya sa naka-ambang impeachment kay Ombudsman Conchita Carpio – Morales na mukhang nagmula lamang sa mga taong gustong magpalapad ng papel sa Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
That was probably a reaction to a… the President, negative comments about the Chief Justice.
This probably could come from those who really wanted to be the good choices of the President too. So, this is not something that is a motivated by politics but probably by some interested parties who really want to get noticed by all of these developments.
