Nakatakda nang lagdaan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang panukalang Bangsamoro Organic Law sa loob ng dalawang araw.

Ito ang tiniyak ni Pangulong Duterte sa kanyang ikatlong State of the Nation Address o SONA kahit pa nabigong mag-convene ang Kongreso matapos ang pagpapalit ng liderato sa Kamara.
Ayon sa Punong Ehekutibo, isang hakbang na lamang ang Bangsamoro Organic Law o BOL patungo sa reyalidad at kailangan ng karagdagang pang-unawa at pasensya upang malampasan ang dusa ng pagbabago.

Samantala, sa issue naman ng pagpapalit ng sistema ng gobyerno, muling nanindigan si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na wala siyang intensyon na manatili sa kapangyarihan sa sandaling matapos ang kanyang termino sa taong 2022.
