“So, I don’t know the right words but this isn’t goodbye maybe for farewell in the meantime, but again, from the bottom of our hearts, from all the Cayetano’s, from my father, my sister, my mom, my wife, my brotehers, sister-in-laws, maraming maraming Salamat po sainyong lahat! We love you and Salamat po sa pagmamahal na binigay ninyo po sa amin. Lastly po, kung meron man akong nasaktan or na-personal sa mga debate, please accept my apologies, I don’t promise not to do it again but this time around I’ll do it as a diplomat so I’ll be much kinder but please also guide me and if I do it, it was not meant to hurt you but it was a spirit of crafting better laws or yung sa paghuhubog ng isang mas magandang Pilipinas. Again, thank you very much everyone! God Bless You! Salamat Mister President”, bahagi ng pahayag ni dating senador ngayo’y bagong DFA Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano.
