Kinumpirma ni National Security Adviser Sec. Hermogenes Esperon Jr na naghain na ng Diplomatic Protest ang Pilipinas laban sa China.
Ito’y kasunod ng panibagong panghihimasok ng China Coast Guard sa karagatang sakop ng Pilipinas partikular na sa Scarborough o Panatag Shoal.
Sa pagdalo ni Esperon sa signing ng Peace Covenant ng AFP, PNP at COMELEC sa Samar, sinabi niyang mas pinipili ng Pilipinas na resolbahin ang usapin sa diplomatikong paraan.
