SINELYUHAN ng nangungunang digital solutions platform Globe at ng Provincial Government ng Albay ang isang partnership bilang suporta sa Hapag Movement, kung saan ito ang unang pagkakataon na nakiisa ang isang local government unit sa inisyatibo laban sa kagutuman.
Upang mapagtibay ang partnership, nag-host si Albay Governor Edcel Greco ‘Grex’ Lagman ng isang benefit dinner noong August 11, 2023 sa Governor’s Guest House sa Legazpi, na dinaluhan ng key Albayanos.
Ang lahat ng kikitain mula sa dinner ay direktang mapupunta sa ‘The Hapag Movement’, sa layuning suportahan ang pagsisikap ng Provincial Government of Albay na magkaloob ng meals sa mga pamilya na naapektuhan ng nagpapatuloy na state of calamity sa lugar.
Isa itong commitment sa pagsugpo sa kagutuman, na nagpapakita sa shared values at dedication kapwa ng Globe at ng Provincial Government of Albay.
Ang key partner organizations ng inisyatibo ay ang Albay chapter para sa Tzu Chi Foundation, isang international humanitarian organization na isa sa implementing partners ng Hapag Movement, Albay Queen 102, Leo Club, at ang kanilang mother organization Legazpi City “Host” Lions Club, PMJF, isang socio-civic organization na nakatuon sa walong global causes, kabilang ang kagutuman.
Pinasalamatan ni Yoly Crisanto, Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer of the Globe Group, ang Provincial Government of Albay sa pagharap sa hamon ng pagtugon sa kagutuman.
“Tonight marks a huge milestone for the Hapag Movement because Albay is the first LGU to sign up and join us. We believe that LGUs are among the key pillars for nation-building,” sabi ni Crisanto.
“Our ambition is huge. And we cannot do it alone. That’s why a major thrust of Hapag Movement is to find partners for fund-raising and implementation. We are truly proud to have Albay as our first LGU and the Lions Club of Albay as our first implementation partner outside Metro Manila. Your support will go a long way in achieving our shared goal of uplifting the lives of our fellow Filipinos,” dagdag pa niya.
“Albay is committed to the welfare of its people, and this collaboration with the Hapag Movement, Globe and other partners will help us reach Albayanos who continue to reel from involuntary hunger. Tonight is just the beginning of what I hope will be a long and fruitful partnership,” wika ni Lagman.
Nagpahayag din ng kanilang suporta ang mga kinatawan mula sa Tzu Chi Foundation at Legazpi City “Host” Lions Club, PMJF.
“This support is timely as we continue to work to touch the lives of families who cannot afford to have proper meals in a day. Through compassion, love, and hope, we can alleviate the suffering of those in need and create a better world for all,” sabi ni Jocelyn Chua, Tzu Chi Foundation Albay volunteer.

Ang Hapag Movement ay isang Globe-led initiative na naglalayong tulungan ang 100,000 pamilya na nakararanas ng gutom sa loob ng apat na taon sa pamamagitan ng supplemental feeding at livelihood support. Magmula nang ilunsad noong 2022, dumami na ang partners nito, kabilang ang NGOs at private sector partners na nagtutulungan para makapagbigay ng life-saving at life-enabling support sa mahihirap na pamilya.
