An Airbus 333 Aircarft of Korean Airlines Flight KE631 overshoots at Mactan Cebu International Airport late Sunday evening October 23, 2022.
Eric Apolonio Spokeperson of Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines confirmed the incident and all flights are temporarily suspended after the runway was declared closed.
Korean Airlines Flight 631 departed Incheon Korea around 7:20 Sunday evening and touch downed around 11:08 at Cebu International Airport.
It however overshoot to the grassy portion of the runway prompting Cebu fire and rescue teams with medical personnel immediately dispatched to the crashed site.
Apolonio said that Cebu based Aircraft and Accident Investigation Board of CAAP are now on site to investigate the cause.
Apolonio added that as of press time 3 flights bound for Mactan were diverted to Manila, Clark and Davao.
