Dumistansya ang Malacañang sa pahayag ni dating Senador Juan Ponce Enrile na walang nakulong o naaresto noong panahon ng martial law ni dating Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos.
Ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, kinikilala ng Palasyo na nagkaroon ng mga biktima ang martial law dahil mayroong mga desisyon hinggil dito ang mga korte.
Tumanggi si Roque na mag komento kung ano ang motibo ni Enrile sa kanyang mga pahayag gayung isa siya sa mga nanguna sa EDSA People Power Revolution na nagpatalsik kay Marcos.
“That’s an issue that we have nothing to do with. I don’t think they can twist history when there is a law and court decision attesting to what happened during martial law. If you remember couple of weeks back, we even had here in Malacañang as guests the members of the compensation board and they still have last minute problem to resolve on how to release all the compensation for the victims of martial law. So, the position of the Palace is we are implementing the law and the law says, that there should be reparations pay to victims of martial law.” Pahayag ni Roque.
