Nilinaw ngayon ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque ang unang naging pahayag kaugnay sa tuluyang pagbuwag sa Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor o PCUP.
Ayon kay Roque tanging mga commissioners ng nasabing komisyon lamang ang sisibakin ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte at hindi i-aabolish ang PCUP.
“With sincerest regrets I would like to correct the statement I made on the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) during this morning’s press briefing. It is to fire, and not to abolish the Commission,” Ani Roque sa isang pahayag.
“He will fire all commissioners and chair is a commissioner too.” Dagdag nito
Si dating Kabataan Party-list Representative Terry Ridon ang chairman ng PCUP.
Una rito ay sinabi ni Pangulong Duterte sa kanyang talumpati sa ika-84 anibersaryo ng Department of Labor and Employment o DOLE noong December 8 sa Bulacan na may sisibakin siyang isang komisyon.
Matatandaang sinabi ni Roque sa press briefing ngayong umaga sa Malacañang na ang planong pagsibak sa mga namumuno sa PCUP ay dahil sa umano’y junket ng mga commissioners at hindi na nagagampanan ng mga ito ang kanilang mandato.
“The two grounds mentioned to me by the President is that it is a collegial body and they don’t appear to be working as a collegial body and junkets of the commissioners, I don’t know personally he just asked to make the announcement, that it is in line with the government drive against graft and corruption, perhaps that would be a logical conclusion but let us await the official memorandum on this regard.” Ani Roque
