Students from San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan share that the SM Group’s donation activity allows them to learn how to better protect their hygiene and health.
From providing access to hygiene kits to eliminating societal taboos and misconceptions, the Philippines has been trying to break the silence surrounding women’s health and hygiene.
Through the SM Store and SM Foundation, the SM Group continues to empower young women in partner communities by distributing hygiene kits and promoting education on women’s health and wellness.
“Malaking bagay ito dahil 500 young female learners ang lalong mada-dagdagan ang kaalaman tungkol sa female hygiene at kung ano ang wastong paggamit sa mga hygiene products. Dahil sa dagdag kaalaman tungkol dito, mas magiging komportable sila sa kanilang pagaaral,” Tungkong Mangga Elementary School Principal Lilybeth Dasco said.
Aside from distributing hygiene kits in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan, the SM Group also donated to Jugan Elementary School in Consolacion, Cebu.
Through the successful run of the “Shop & Share for Women” campaign, hygiene kits, containing essential feminine products, will be distributed nationwide through partner organizations, including UN Women partner NGOs, SM Foundation, and the Girl Scouts of the Philippines.
The SM Store and the SM Foundation turned over 500 hygiene kits in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan.
Teachers from Tungkong Mangga Elementary School assist in distributing the hygiene kits pooled through the SM Store’s Shop & Share for women.
